“Kelly Thompson has traveled a long and winding road; full of thorns and thistles to derive at an outcome of healing. She uses both her extensive experience, scholarly disciplines and biblical knowledge to bring you to the place of wholeness. This threefold chord will strike a unique note with all women but is focused on the unique nuances of women of color. The goal isn’t about perfection that would be audacious. BLACK WOMEN CAN DO THERAPY is a missive on a mission to the intent that you can evolve to the highest and best version of yourself!”

Meet Kelly
Kelly R. Thompson, MA, LPC Associate
For over 20 years, I have led people through complex and sensitive situations, by creating a safe space for them to heal from hurtful past experiences. My predominant focus of work is with Black Christian women, as well as people both confident and struggling in their Christian faith.
I am a mental health therapist, provisionally licensed in Texas, with a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Oral Roberts University. I am also a certified life coach, specializing in helping my clients push through the barriers stopping them from reaching their goals.

I am passionate about educating our community on the importance of incorporating our biblical foundation into our process of pursuing mental wellness and personal development.

“I have had the pleasure to work with Kelly at The Potters House Center For Behavioral Health when she was in a Counselor role. It is immediately noticeable that she has a loving genuine heart for people and has passion for her calling to serve people ...there is no one better suited to be in her role because of her ability to empathize and exude compassion towards others.”
- Honour R. Sithole, MA . LPC-S
"Kelly's strengths as a coach are her training, experience, committment and empathy to helping African-American Christian women work through life issues and also her connection with the Holy Spirit.
